赫拉克勒斯经过一条狭窄的路时，见到地上有一个很像苹果的东西。他用脚想去踩碎它，突然觉得那东西变大了两倍，於是他更加用力去踩，到后来用大木棒去打。结果那东西越长越大，把路都堵塞了。他扔下木棒，不知所措地站在那里。这时，雅典娜来到他面前，说:兄弟，住手吧，这个怪物叫纠纷，如果你不去理会它，它就会平平安安地停放在那里，仅只有苹果一样大。若与它争斗和对抗，它就会膨胀得巨大。
寓意:生活中需要和平共处，争斗和对抗往往会带来更大的危害。

金枪鱼与海豚（Tuna and dolphins）
金枪鱼被海豚追逐，发出阵阵声音，在眼看要被海豚捉住的时候，金枪鱼猛然一跳，不料跳得太远，搁浅在岸边了。紧追不舍的海豚也跟海豚也跟着金枪鱼一跳，同样也搁浅在岸边。这时，金枪鱼回过头去，看着奄奄一息的海豚说:“现在我对死已无所畏惧了，因为我看见那造成这种结果的家伙也与我一同死。”
寓意：有些人看见那些造成别人不幸的人，同样也给自己带来不幸，便容易忍受不幸带来的痛苦。

池塘里，住着一只大青蛙。它成天向动物们吹嘘他的医术。狐狸很讨厌青蛙这样子哒，就跑到池塘边，问;‘你会治什么病呢? ’青蛙说;‘天下所有的病我都能治。’狐狸听了，马上笑道：‘哈哈，那你为什么还跛着脚走路?为什么还长着一脸皱皱的皮呢?’青蛙脸红了‘扑通’一声跳下了水，躲在荷叶下，再也不敢出来了。
寓意：吹牛是没有好下场的，只有掌握了真本领，才能让大家心服口服。

一个病人来找医生看病，医生发现由于喝酒病人的肝已经不行了。但他什么都没说只是给他开了些药。最后病人还是死了。葬礼上医生说：“如果他生前戒了酒，就不至于丧命。”在场的另一个人回答说：“高明的大夫，这话你应该在病人活着的时候说啊，病人生前你闭口不言，事到如今，你对死人说这些话有什么用呢？”
寓意：做事情应该防范于未然，发现问题及时处理，不应该在事后说一些毫无用处的空话。

寓意： 每个人都应该安分守己。
